This lovely lamp is 29" tall. The base is either porcelain or heavy ceramic, and it has 9780 marked in the base. The gold floral pattern looks like peonies, and there are bumblee bees among the flowers as well as around the base. The hardware is antique brass. It's heavily tarnished and feels rough, but does not seem to be pitted. The shade has had several holes poked in it, apparantly with something small like a pin. Some of the holes form a little smiley face. These are visible when the lamp is on, but can be turned to the back and wouldn't be as noticable. It is also a bit dented and the fabric is a little pilled. It really isn't all that bad, but a new shade certainly wouldn't hurt the appearance of the lamp anyway. It has a pull chain on/off switch on the socket. The lamp needs to be cleaned, but otherwise it looks really nice. The finish isn't crazed and I didn't find any chips, cracks or damage.
